I’m not a coyote hunter but the excuse that dogs don’t know property lines used as a license to trespass wherever is BS. If you can’t run on a big block or have permission don’t go. The owner is responsible for the dogs.
This same premise killed rabbit hunting back in the day. Before...
I’m an outlier on this one as I don’t care. LO tags have been around forever so what if they float. I’ve read many posts here that very few shoot “ multiple bucks” even though they can. Does this change that? I don’t think so. Opposing every piece of legislation is disingenuous. Focus and...
My wife just received a speeding citation by cam in LeClaire. What if you’re not the registered driver? Your kid, friend etc borrows the car. It’s a bs revenue making scheme. It’s not law enforcement.
I can tell you if it were not for my agent when I bought my house in Iowa several issues would not have come to light. The listing agent does not care about you. They want the property sold and a commission. That’s common sense.
The piece I talked about in Dallas Co has been looked at twice...
Years ago I was trying to buy a piece of land in Wayne County. I contacted the listing or sellers agent. I quickly realized my offer was never presented to the owner. The listing agent didn’t like my number. So, I acquired my own agent to ensure my offers and interests were looked after. I...
I bought my primary residence and ground with it in Dallas Co. My straight rec ground is in SC Iowa. A little different ride than straight rec ground. I think I’ll be ok but who knows.
You’re right but you can over do the what ifs. Paralysis by analysis. Land is still one of the most consistent investments out there. Of course you can’t see everything. No such thing as a sure thing. Look at Dallas County. The 4th fastest growing county in the nation. Those who have...
I think larger tracts, 600ac plus, were established years ago when timber was considered garbage land. Many hunters want to own as much as possible but money limitations today with the crazy prices break up the tracts. Guys with the resources to own a bunch of acres are few. Add in that most...
I’ll take that bet. You’ll never see 4k again. This isn’t the 1980 commodities crash. No comparison. Rec ground wasn’t a thing then. During the 08 crash, caused by Bill Clinton’s everyone should own a house even though they can’t afford it program that he began in 1995, rec ground held...
Not rec ground. Most out of state rec ground buyers don’t give two hoots about grain prices one way or the other. Some do but most don’t. They’re not buying for crop production or rental. If they can make a few bucks great but they don’t care.
Almost all of those points are normal issues. Not sure where one could buy a piece of property and not have those problems, except non land owners. Lol
