    Lace up boots

I have two pairs of Danner pronghorns and really like them. They are my go to hiking/bird hunting boots. I always put some shoe goo on them to keep the toes from wearing.

Alright guys, Who's s with me, November 19th, and still grinding this season out

I'm still at it also. Like others I have passed on some decent bucks. I've been through this before and honestly I've seen the biggest bucks consistantly the weekend after thanksgiving. Not that they were coming out of the woodwork, but I was happy I climbed up into my stand that day. So, I...

    Climber VS Hang on

I am of the same opinion as big buck hunter. But i feel super safe and comfortable in my climber. Lucky for me, there are tons of trees where I hunt that allow for a climber set up.

    All day sits

I do 3 to 5 a season and it's tuff. You just have to remember why you are out there. At the end of the day if you feel like you haven't accomplished something, you probably need to find another hobby. I carry binos and a bird book. Squirrels where I hunt must be related to Steve Martin, they...

    Your worst mistake

Worst mistake I made, and continue to make is not having my bow in my hands. I don't know how many times I have been frozen still, trying to get my bow off it's hanger just to watch a deer amble away unscathed.

If you have only 7 days to hunt......

November 3rd thru 10th for me. I feel like those dates are going to be pre-rut. But as stated before, if you can wait till the last minute to decide, let the weather do the talking. Good luck!

Parts of the day producing results

Had a 2.5 year old buck walk down our gravel road, 80 yards from the house at 2:30 p.m last Sunday. Just taking a nice easy stroll, not worried about a thing. Most of the activity we are seeing from our stands is right about a half hour before the end of legal shooting time.

    Too late?

Raver is Daver's alter ego. Kinda like Bruce Wayne and Batman. Raver is a muscular studly type monster buck killing machine. Hunts out of trees without a stand. You never see him, I think he's invisible. Oh, have I ever told you how much I hate spell check?

    How drought hardy is alfalfa?

Sounds like it just went dormant. Be sure to get the nutrients,ie fertilizer etc to it early next spring. I lost an entire alfalfa hay field planted early this year. Looked awesome and then....no rain. Its going to beans next season.

Built 2 New Blinds , What yall think

Those are awesome. We bought a composite ready made, but yours puts it to shame. You have so much more shooting/viewing area than ours. Niiiiice!

    Too late?

Raver has it right! Best clover I ever planted was late.

    Acorns or Food Plots

Ryan, have fun in Iowa. IMHO, you should target row crop field edges that butt up against timber. Sign and travel corridors will be obvious. My experience has been that bucks will cruise and hang out where ever they think does will be. You should be hitting the rut dead on with those dates. So...
