Didn't make it out this weekend. Was just wondering if anyone else has had any luck? Chris

Nothing here yet. Checked my best sheddin spot Saturday. Lots of fresh tracks. Boss had seen a nice buck in there that morning and it was still carrying both sides. I saw over a half dozen bucks this weekend, but all had their sides too. I am done bowhunting now as the season ended, so I will start checking and scouting areas that I don't hunt and see if anything is happening there. I hope shed hunting goes better then my bow hunting as far as getting results. Can't complain on the hunting part. Seen lots of deer and had a lot within range. Just never worked out for a shot on a doe or doe fawn. Passed on a lot of young bucks I had shot oppertunities, but never had any big ones within range. Even had a doe rub it in my face this morning. She bedded 6 yards away from me and I had no shot!! Gotta love bowhunting and I did have a blast. Looking forward to it next year already.

I was actually hoping to get a shot at somethng that had both sides still attatched, or at least something with meat on it! Not much eating but I did come home with a fresh shed. I saw the buck from my stand this year and he'll be a dandy next year. I looked for the match but to no avail.

Went out today with my buddy, and found the my first fresh one of the year. It was a 2 1/2 year old 4 point. It will score only around 40 inches. Not use to it yet, I had to get about 5 feet away before I saw it. The first one of the year is always the toughest anyway. Good Luck

I'd try just driving up and glassing the fields with some good binoculars. Alot of the bucks still have both sides, and you don't want to push them to an area where you'll never find their sheds by tromping through their core area.

Found our first shed in Illinois 3 days ago. 60" 5 pt. Have already got a few in Montana and Ontario canada with our shed hunter antler traps. Nothing real big yet.

We found one very small forkie. We didn't spend much time looking today, but did more driving to see if the bucks are still carrying. Seen 7 bucks with both sides. We did score big time though otherwise today. We got permission to shed hunt very good land. Been trying for years to get access to it as it is a great area for deer. Probably will never be able to hunt it, but he likes trapping so we have a good chance to do that. That made both mine and my son's day and we will do some foot scouting tomorrow. Hoping to find some old sheds if nothing else just to see what the land has for potential for this year. Only a few have ever hunted it so there should be some old bucks with decent racks/sheds in the area.

I tried today for about 6 hours but didn't find anything except a thin spot in the ice which was over very deep water (trying to take a short cut back to the car). Once I was able to roll out of the water, it was a bee-line for home. End of day. Taking off tomorrow afternoon for Sask., I'll be looking in the Yorkton area. I found a couple good ones there last year. The land owner tells me those bucks are still around and quite afew deer have dropped already.

I went out this morning and took my dogs along just for fun. My Brit came back with a big 5 point, haven't had a chance to measure it yet, but it is big. Probably is more like a 6 to 7 point but the mice and tree rats got to it first, I can say that it is from last year. Now if I could only find this bad boy during hunting season...

No sheds today, but did find 3 dead deer. Found 1 big doe and 2 bucks, 1 buck had his rack cutoff and the other his head cutoff. I did find a fresh pair on Thursday. Chris

Ishedhunt, do you think the two bucks were poached?

Hard telling. I didn't see any wounds that looked like they were from a bow or gun though. They were close enough to a busy road. So they could have been roadkill. Chris
