What if you could pick only one thing to do? Either hunt deer or shed antler hunt? Personally I would rather give up hunting deer. Just a fun question

Personally I would have to choose shed hunting. I would trade one buck a year for 50-60 sheds any day. It is a fun question though. However, with the anti's doing thier thing and all the other anti-hunting retoric thats going on (example; Latest Jeep commercial), someday it may be all we get to do.

Boy that would be tough to decide. I think I would have to go with hunting. I enjoy shed hunting, but not only am I looking for sheds, I'm scouting new areas, double checking the old areas to see where the deer have been to plan for the following fall and winter. That way I have a good idea what areas to watch in the summer and to scout in the fall/winter for hunting. Shed hunting gives me another very good reason to be out there to benefit my hunting.

My son who is too young to hunt, loves shed hunting and we get to spend a lot of great quality time together. That would be the only reason for me to give up hunting for shed hunting till he is old enough to hunt.

Great question guys but it really isnt a hard question for me. After being out there my first year bow hunting there is no way i would give it up. The rush you get when any deer being a buck or a doe i got from being out there would never be the same as walking up on a shed. I just about shook out of my boots. No way would I ever give it up.

I'd definitely choose deer. There is no way you can get the same rush walking within 5 feet of a shed as you can walking within 50 feet of a deer. Just my thoughts.

I have found more trophy sheds, than I will ever shoot with my bow or gun combined, and I know that they are still alive and getting bigger.

I'd agree with that also.

I'd agree with that also.

I'd give up deer and still hunt sheds. No question about it.

No contest for me. I'm 55, have bowhunted over 3 decades and hope to spend at least another 20 years sitting in trees with my bow.

The only thing that comes close to the pure thrill of bowhunting is skydiving and I'd give that up way before bowhunting.

I would have to keep hunting. This year was my first year bowhunting. There is nothing like having a huge buck walk within 20yds. of your stand.

I would want to deer hunt this is my first year deer and shed hunting but i like deer hunting better because it is cool to find a nice shed or a set but i think it would be cooler to get the deer who has them

I would have to stick to hunting deer. It might be because I have yet to find any sheds though. This is my first year of really going out shed hunting.

Well, let's see, I am doing a test right now. I'm taking one bite of this nice juicy venison steak and one bite of this nice big shed antler.......... The steak tastes better and is much easier to chew, so I guess I'd vote for deer hunting.
