I'm fairly new to the forum and I'm from NW Sask. I've picked up some nice sheds in the past few days and was wondering how to get a photo in here.
I've got some great sheds for the contest that I just picked up but how the heck do you get picks in here. Will somebody help this dummy from up north out?
sorry buys, picks was supposed to be pictures, now I really do look like a dummy!
Saskguy,
Welcome!
Posting pics is easy as long as you have a website to attach them to. If you don't you can use the UPLOAD function and attach them to iowawhitetail.com.
Example,
Try right clicking on any photo in the Conference, click on Properties and then you will see the photo's attachment address.
Lets take ISHEDHUNT's photo under this topic, here is the photo attachment address.

How did I create this you ask? He e-mailed me the photo, I saved it on my desktop, clicked on UPLOAD, right clicked on the photo when it appeared, copy and pasted the photo attachment address and then added a in front and a in back.

Here it is with the and brackets in fron/back.
The trick is making sure your saved photo isn't too big and you understand the UPLOAD function concept.
Almost forgot...
You can use sites like hunting-photos.com or any other site to store your photo's but we think the UPLOAD function works just as well or better.

I've got some pics also(saved on my computer)...where do I find "upload"? Can we post pics without having them saved on a website like hunting-pictures or old tackle?
Sorry to be so slow...never been able to figure this out either. Thanks for the help!
TB
First, make sure your photo's aren't too big, to us 400 x 300 pixels is perfect, 72 DPI as well.
Then go to homepage of this site and click on UPLOAD (http://www.iowawhitetail.com/upics/uploadform.asp),once there click on BROWSE and find your file, click on Submit Query and your photo will show up on that page.
The above process will attach a URL or website to your photo and by rights it has to have this to show up in the Conference.
Once you see the photo just Right Click on it and click on properties and Copy/Paste the URL to the page in the Conference.
Add the in front of the URL and this one in back of it, click on Submit Reply and your photo will be there.
Try right clicking on any photo in the Conference just as an example of what the URL will look like.

P.S. No, I didn't shoot the buck in the picture. It came to me in an email some time ago and, to be honest, I don't even remember who, where or when the beast was shot.

Good Job NW Buck!!!!
Maybe you can help others that can't quite get it.
This will add a whole new dimension to this Conference if everyone can figure out the picture thing.
Thanks for your efforts!

NW Buck,
Do you know if that buck was shot in Iowa? My friend found a set of sheds last year, and it looks darn similiar to the buck in the picture. The sheds had 14pts and were found in SE MN.
We opened up a Conference you guys/gals can practice on, see main conference page and "Adding Photo's To Conference".

MN Hunter,
I did a little digging around and figured out that this was a shotgun kill from the 2000 Iowa season. A friend of mine hunted with family members in eastern Iowa and sent this picture of a buck harvested by someone in their party. I believe he mentioned that it scored somewhere in the 200 inch range. Anyway, I don't think it could have been the same sheds because the deer was killed in December of 2000.

Thanks for the reply, no I doubt it is the same buck, if the sheds were found after the buck had been killed!
