Sheding this weekend ?

Is/has anyone gone out shed hunting this weekend. the snow has kept us in how 'bout you?

I went out but have only wind burns and tired legs to show for it. I guess us old guys can still learn something from you young bucks.

We had about 12 inches of snow here in central Nebraska so I "borrowed" the wifes 4wd and burned up some gas driving around. Didn't see any sheds but really didn't expect to. I do find it amazing that I'm the one who is the outdoors person but I don't have a 4 wheeler. She's the one with one!lol! Maybe by next weekend the snow will have melted. Jay

We made it out Saturday. Didn't get any snow up here, but it was a cold, windy, raw day. Found 9 sheds and saw 10 bucks still packing both side except for one. Got to see my 4X5 and he was still packing both sides. 7 out of the 9 sheds were from young bucks, one shed was from a 2.5 year old and the other shed was a decent 5pt from last year. I found the mate to it last year so even though it was not this years shed it still made my day. It was in great shape and the sqirrels didn't find it for laying there a year. I had to chop it out of the mud and glad I always carry a hatchet with me. Not the first time I had to use it getting a shed out. I'll post some pictures tomorrow night. From now till green up we will hit it hard. We've got competition in the area with the 4X5 and it sounds like they will use horses to aid them in shedding. Not my cup of tea, but each their own I guess.

Isn't it cool to find the match, even if its the next year. ( As long as the critters dont find them first.) You sure had a good day out shedding, nice pics. Good luck, Buck
