That is absolutely no fair, I have never found one driving down the road. Had a buddy spot a nice one 100 yds off the road last year laying along the edge of a creek. Congratulations, good eyes!

I found those sheds this morning while running some errands at work. I was driving about 50mph down the road and saw them laying in the road ditch. I wish it was always that easy. They are a 135" 9 point set.

Nice find BigGuy. I my self haven't been out yet but got a great lead this week on a huge metro buck up here in La Crosse. A guy I work with has been seeing him the last couple of weeks. I think i will get out tomorrow, been down sick with the flu and just kicked it the other day so I am hitting the woods now. I will be sure to post some pics.

Keep it up and good shed huntin!

SH^%, you need a back pack just to carry those suckers out of the woods! Dandy set of shed, those bases are huge!

03-07-2002, 10:03 AM
Those are my sheds from NW Sask. The bases are huge, 6-7 inches and they would have scored better except for a week g4 on the left side. The set weighs over 6 and a half pounds. I found them less than 2 miles from my home.

Big Guy,
Nice pictures, thanks for posting them. Were those sheds found in a hayfield, or CRP. I have saw quite a few bucks in hayfields this winter.

The second and 3rd photos of mine are individuals I picked up within 100 yards of the set. The ugly 4 pt has a 6 1/2 inch base and a 6 inch drop and the monster 5 pt has a 15 inch g2 and 12 1/2 g3. It scores 87 typical, 95 non typical.

I see you sold those nice antlers on ebay. Are you crying yet. It will be a long time until you find another set as nice as those ones.

03-19-2002, 11:32 PM
Bent,
I didn't cry for very long when I saw what those sheds sold for on ebay even though I know it may be awhile before I find another set like that. But,...... I just bought an acreage up here NW of Meadow Lake in the heart of big buck country and $3000 canadian dollars comes in very handy right now. It does hurt to sell them but when you need the $$, lots of things become "for sale". I know of at least 3 170+ bucks that made it through the hunting season as I saw them all in late January, early February, just a couple of miles from where I bought my home. Right now there is over a foot of snow in the bush and alfalfa so anything there is out of site. I'm keeping my fingers crossed Bent b/c I know there are more out there and the next set like that won't be for sale.
