This is an 8 point my 7 year old found on 1 of our first shed hunting trips this year.It was last years and the antlers were chewed a little. We were looking in large pine thicket in a bow hunting only area.Who ever arrowed this deer had to be sick with them selves for not finding it.My guess is it would have measured 135 to 140.The part I will never forget is him struggling to carry that thing around all day. This spot was atleast a mile and a half from the nearest road. All day long he kept telling me how hungry he was.Needless to say he did'nt have any trouble sleeping that night.

Cool picture...his face tells it all.
A side note - on the left side of the picture I see what appears to be a desk lamp made with sheds. Did you do this yourself? If so I thought maybe you could fill us in on the details. Thanks.

Great picture, you can see the joy in the look on his face!
I have been out with my boy a time or 2 this year and I have never enjoyed shed hunting more. Once we get rid of this last snow from a recent storm we'll be out again until greenup.
Thanks for sharing the story and picture.

Actually that is the lamp beside my computer desk and those are a few of the sheds we found this year hanging there for lack of a better place to store them for now.
that looks like a nice side of a rack on your sons LEFT shoulder, where did you get that one at, post some pics.

Tell him congrats from me. Looks like he was one happy camper. That's why I like our little racked ND bucks. You can carry quite a few and not tire out. I almost feel sorry for the shedhunters in Iowa and north of the Border lugging around them monster sheds. http://www.iowawhitetail.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

Iowa that is a whole rack actually.I posted it under the found dead category awhile back. Here we find alot of bucks dead usually hit by cars although that particular buck was along way from any road so I'm guessing it died from some different cause. We have found 12 bucks laying dead this year alone and probably 3 times that many does.
Tim I hope to walk his little butt off next year and if he is good I might let him bring his lunch.Wont be to much longer and I will be in your shoes .Then I will be able to set down and eat his lunch while he finds all the sheds.
