I had a guy bring me a shed this year that I measured out to be 107 and change. 7 1/4 base. Non-typical, of course. Our current state record is 103+, so it would be the record shed if he enters it, which I doubt that he will. He has the buck's shed from the past 3 years, all very similar in size. He hasn't been able to find the match, and all 3 are the same side. Truly impressive.

I have been sworn to secrecy on the location, but I can say that his range is on public land.

What have you guys been hearing as far as the biggest shed found in IA this year? Someone out there surely has the Albia buck sheds!! How about the biggest found in the U.S. and Canada? Any word on where the next 200"+ typical or 300" non-typical is going to be this fall? I heard rumor of a potential 220" typical in Kansas but no one can verify that. How about you, Kansan? Any talk your way on this big buck?

I have heard of two different typical fives found in Western Iowa. One scores 87", the other scores 90" with several inches missing due to squirrel chewing. I have seen this shed and it is truly awesome. 12 inch g2, 13 inch g3, and 12 inch g4, 7 inch brow. Have yet to hear of any large nontypicals being found.

I haven't heard anything about a "new" 220 typical here in KS. I'm sure there are a couple walking around that would score that high, but nothing new since the 220-plus net typical buck's sheds picked up here a couple yrs ago.

About a month ago I seen a picture of a shed from Saskatchewan that is supposed to score 97 inches as a 7 point. Very similar to the Hanson buck in that its tall and long but no mass. Last year about this time a shed was found in Minnesota that has a gross typical 6 point frame of 107 and nets 102 typical. Havn't heard if anything from this deer has been found this year. Probably won't either as there were some eyes blackened over the story getting out when the shed was found. Some lifelong friend are no longer friends because of it. I do know that more info will come from this deer when its either killed or found to be dead. Its prety hush hush right now and I don't blame em.

dc240nt, I can understand the secrecy on such a huge shed, but what else do you know about this buck? SE MN or a St.Paul/Minneapolis suburb buck? It would be great to see pictures--do you know if they ever ran an article on this buck in any deer hunting magazines?

SHEDHEAD, have to agree that I would be pretty quiet about it also. No, no magazines that I know of, havn't heard about any Cam photos either, although I know several were hoping. Just talked with a person who's "in the know" with this shed. He doesn't beleive any sheds were found from this spring, at least knowone is talking. I don't want to be the one to spill the beans on where this deer is at but I will say this, he's on public land and near the Canadian border. Go figure eh?

Hi Guys,
I added a few new shed pictures on my site. They are from this spring. The 2 biggest are both 5 points. One was found around Des Moines (87")and the other in S.E. Iowa. (95").

Thanks, dc240nt! Keep us all posted as you follow what happens to this buck or if any more of his sheds are found.
