Has anyone seen the latest (summer) issue of BIG BUCK magazine. It has a 152 inch shed from Kansas. Its a monster.

Haven't seen it yet. But I've got a good idea of the shed you're talking about....what's the name of the guy with the shed in the article?

Hey guys, 152" pair attached with decent air space makes a nice buck. This thing must be what we all dream about.

Received my issue of Big Buck yesterday. Sounds like the shed was found along a dirt trail or road--speculation was that the jolt of the deer jumping across the road/ditch caused it fall near this road. Nothing else is mentioned about the other side or if the buck is being hunted, etc. Big Buck magazine has alot of Canadian photos and hunting stories, most of which are rather short--only a paragraph or two--but they have alot of neat pictures of sheds, in the field shots of big muleys and whitetails, and hunter's stories. A neat magazine to add to your monthly subscritions, especially if you like looking at very large sheds like the 152" Kansas shed!

I hadn't recieved my copy yet so I called Gary Donald and it sounds like they should hit Iowa this week.

They were mailed the 26th of June.

Can't wait!

Hi guys! TLH, how is your summer photography going?

IADroptine, I guess you figured out that we're talking about a 152 inch single, that translates into a 320 class non-typical out of Kansas! I received my Big Buck Mag a week or 2 ago, it seems like every issue features more impressive sheds from all over North America.

TLH, do you know Gary Donald personally? What's his story--he sounds like he pursues deer photography with more dedication than alot of deer hunters? Just curious since he has taken so many awesome in-the-field photos of big bucks.

NW,

Hey Mike...good to see you posting!

Summers going ok, finally starting to slow down.

Won't be long now. Can't wait!

SHEDHEAD,

I've only spoke to Gary a few times on the phone. Mike ( Northern Whitetails ) knows him well but I do believe you are correct about his passion photographing beautiful Canadian whitetails. He has a fantastic magazine, it has become one of my favorites if not my favorite read.

Good Hunting To Everyone!

Well, I suppose you could say that Garry Donald has what most of us would consider a dream job.

He has built Big Buck Magazine up from a few pages of black and white newsletter to the 15th anniversary issue that many of you just picked up in the mail or on the newsstand.

Garry's 'work' includes shed hunting, muzzleloader and rifle hunting, wild whitetail photography, and outdoor writing exclusively for Big Buck.

At the same time, along with some full-time photographers and writers, he is the one-man show that engineers the best trophy whitetail and mule deer magazine in existance.

Sounds like it truely is a dream job--where can we apply?!?! What type of shed collection does Gary have?? Must be some bruisers in his collection if that is one of his full-time "jobs"!

I just got done checking out the picture of the shed in Big Buck. I've known about this shed for some time, as it was picked up over a year ago. I wasn't quite sure what antler was in the magazine, since I know of another shed that's almost as large picked up several years back. I was suprised to see the 152" shed in the magazine, this shed has been kept pretty much quiet from mainstream attention until now. I was also suprised the other side wasn't shown in the article, as both sides were found close together (the left side was substantially smaller, giving the buck a gross score in the 250's). Regardless, what an awesome buck!!
