Cool, I am gonna have to keep my eye out tomorrow. Do you normally pick them from the roots up? I usually pick mine an inch from the ground, just wondering is all.

No I don't, I try to break them off above ground level. I got carried away today. :D

Some say it doesn't matter if you leave some of the Morel in the ground or pull the whole shrum out of the ground?

I do carry them in a mesh potato sack back to my vehicle. Some say carry them in a mesh bag allows the spores to drop out..............????? :confused:

I question this logic, seems to me they would have to dry up before the spores would release in the wind. But I carry them in the mesh bag away. :confused:

i have heard that the spores are released as soon as they pop up, as well as the "use the mesh bag" theory.
