A while back, I posted a picture of my 3 year old son's first bullseye, using his older sister's old youth long bow (hence its still purple). Yesterday afternoon, after the weekend soccer tournament was over for his older sister, we got out in the backyard to do some shooting. Jacob comes over and asks if he can shoot his bow again. Never one to discourage that, I hung mine up for a while and worked with him. He'll be 4 this December, so I only have him shoot from about 2.5 yards and I don't push him at anything more than trying to develop form, pulling as hard as he can and just hitting the target (anywhere) so he can have fun. And he gets excited EVERY TIME he hits the target. Yesterday, we worked a little on concentrating on the bullseye and as you can see by the picture below, he obviously caught on. This was his 2nd set of 3 shots, after the first 3 shots were all over the target. To say I'm excited for the future for my 2 hunting buddies is a HUGE understatement.

Love that smile! Nothing beats shooting with the kids...cannot wait until they are old enough to help drag 'em out!
