The thread about bh209 and 777 has brought up a question. I currently shoot 777 pellets at 150gr a pop. I do so because I have the Nikon Omega scope with BDC reticle. I also shoot a 250gr bullet because the scope calls for it. Would you think I could use bh209 at 120gr and archive the same results? I too greatly dislike the crud ring left by 777.

Yes I think you could. I went from 150 777 to 110grains BH209 and never had to touch a thing on my old knight. Even shooting out to 200 yards never noticed a difference. All you can do is try it.

I shoot 777 and only shoot 100 grains and my optima doesn't have a lick of trouble I'm pushing 250 grain powerbelts go to spot on ballistics and u can change powder and bullet grains then it calculates each dot on ur bdc and it is pretty dang close!
