PLK,

I use to get a Fall Turkey license for that exact reason. Then one time on stand I was screwing around trying to get a shot off at a Tom and a nice buck snuck in behind me and caught me moving around. So never again, hunt Toms in the Spring and Bucks in the Fall.

I saw a little 4 pointer and a bunch of turkey. Not so good. I can hardly see through all the leaves left on the trees. cant wait til they fall!!

Four of us went out looking to fill doe tags this evening. I saw 16 does and had one about 5 feet beyond what I felt comfortable shooting. Just got home having followed up on three other blood trails. One of which was a real challenge but ended after a couple hours of hard work with a big doe. Nice way to start the season.

How was everyone's opener? I had a group of 3 bachelor bucks walk by, pretty good morning, watched them spar and work on some trees.

My 17 year old brother arrowed a 145" 10 point in southern Minnesota yesterday (Oct. 3)at 7 am. He is a pretty happy hunter right now. He said a doe came by with a forky following her, then this big buck came charging in to chase the forky off. A couple toots on the grunt call brought him in for the 15 yard shot.
