It's supposedly a proven concept that has been used initially to help people with out-of-control B.O. due to chemical imbalances or whatever medical issues cause such things. Someone found a way to market it to hunters. Apparently it worked for our noses. i don't see why it wouldn't work for...
I've experiemented when my aim was not to hunt but to observe. I've seen, as previously noted, that the young bucks tended to go after the estrous scent that I used. I did sit back from a distance and watch my buddy take a nice 10-pointer that was DEFINITELY attracted to the bottle I handed...
Well, I've been at Fort Drum for about a month now. I've secured exclusive access to 400 acres of private land with a friend of mine. In exchange, we're cutting all of next year's wood for her.
I was reviewing NY's game regulations and had to chuckle at the following quote:
"A fishing or...
Well, the time has come. I was born in Iowa and have maintained legal Iowa residency over the course of the last 9 years. I've been living in Iowa for the last 4 years and I'm moving on.
New York is the destination. Although it's one of the last states I ever want to claim, it's where Uncle...
Has anyone shot one of the new Bowtechs with the Equalizer Cam System? Dang those things are sweet and self-tuning as well! Move the nocking point and you'll still shoot a bullet hole.
Loesshillshunter--I used to live up in Sioux Center and did a good bit of business with Shirts'N'Shooters quite a bit in my early 20's. I forgot they sell bows and believe they have an archery range indoors too!
DLO--Oh...no offense at all. It wasn't until I had been visiting SLS that I thought about how all that cigarette smoke would be annoying to customers. No wonder nobody buys hunting clothes there heh heh heh.....
Larry's Archery Barn put on a SWEET 3-D shoot this year that I was able to attend. I had JUST started shooting my bow and decided to mess around with Turbo Nocks instead of traditional fletching. Bad mistake. My arrows were EVERYWHERE. I lost like 6 arrows that day and Vapors are expensive...
Go Vikings! Win Twins! I still have my Homer Hankie from 1987 and I was in 7th grade at the time. I still have my autogrpahed postcard of Tom Brunanksi. The Vikings may be down but Viking fever won't die.
anyways....back to one of the other topics.
glasgowm--I have to stand by you on this...
IAdroptine--You wouldn't happen to make a living from photography would you? I may have bumped into you recently. Might have signed your guestbook the other day?
DLO--I'm still in my first year of archery so I dont trust myself just yet. I'd post my honest opinion here but I'd probably be stepping on toes. I am intimately familiar with Siouxland Sports and I think that Rod is probably one of the very best around when you look at not only his quality...
I just got off the phone with the owner. He compared my receipt from last year and my receipt from this year. I took in a deer that was skinned and quartered last year. I took him a deer that was simply skinned but not quartered this year. He charged me (and ADMITTED it!) $100 to QUARTER my...
I guess this could be considered a "poll" which can be incredibly annoying but I'm trying to find other archers in the Sioux City area. Are there any around here that frequent Iowa Whitetail?
I took roughly 90 lbs of meat to be processed last year at Thurston Locker in Thurston, NE. I had some salamis and some dried venison sandwich meat made up and had the rest ground up and blended with ground beef. My total cost was roughly $70 and that included close to 20 lbs of ground beef...
Re: Fletching tool/Arrow cutting tool. What's bes
Cool. I have a can of denatured acohol in the gun cabinet. It's something I put on patches just to make sure all moisture has evaporated from the muzzleloader after running scalding water through the barrel.
Re: Fletching tool/Arrow cutting tool. What's bes
After some research, I have my heart set on the JoJan multi-fletcher.
here's a list of things I THINK I need. If I'm missing some, let me know.
1. Arrow Saw (probably the Apple in the Cabelas catalog)
2. Arrow Deburring Device
3...
I'm looking for an arrow fletching tool--a QUALITY one and not one of those cheap-looking plastic "E-Z Fletch" deals. Ideally, I would be able to fletch 6 arrows at a time. Who makes the best one?
Also, I'd like to find a tool specifically designed to cut arrows to proper length. Any...
I think most people see Michael Moore for who he is. The "vote for me because the other guy sucks" mentalitly will NOT carry a Kerry win. It's going to take more. I have faith in America.
I tend to vote along 2nd Ammendment lines and some call me a single-issue voter. I don't mind because...
