so like TSI on steroids? I know a property I used to do deer drives on was logged and a total mess was left behind. we thought it might be ruined but it turned out to be top.notch bedding.
Half of my 120 acres is in WRP (flood plain of the cedar river). Has decent timber. I manage trails however i want. Can put up to 10% (i think) in food plots. I only have about 2-3% in a plot. I did have to send a map of the area i was putting in as a plot and basically register it, or get...
sprayed way to early in the spring. rented a tractor and tiller and planted. unknowingly stirred up every weed seed known to man. planted and fertilized by hand. grew the best weeds anyone ever has. I'm talking 6...7 feet high!
No. It was in the interlake area by. Sleeve Lake Outfitters. I can't say enough good things about them. I can't guarantee they are the best ever but I can guarantee they are honest, hard working, nice people with a lot of bears to hunt. A reasonable price too.
My daughter graduated from Iowa this year and wanted a bear hunt for a present. Well twist my arm! we had a great week in Manitoba. I messed up a shot and we couldn't find it but she got a nice one and the walleye bite was on fire! She's had a good year because she shot a nice buck last...
Free ones. Maybe I got lucky but used free ones from farmer friends or NWTF, etc. the last couple years. I don't even remember what brands. The deer browsed it a little even with a 2 row/3 wire electric fence and ate them all by mid January. I'm not going to over think this one.
I bought a used genesis 3 off this site. Got to use it to no till in some beans today. It's awesome! I've never planted with drill or planter before. Previously I only had a tiller. It only took me an hour for a first time set up and calibration. Then an hour to plant 2 acres. Oh how I...
Hose reel for poly tape. walking with hose reels is a pain. I ratchet strap one on the roof of my side by side. my teenager stands in the back and rolls it while i drive around the plot. one big reel will hold two laps of a 2 acre plot.
By the way, I saw over 100 deer in 1983...not one antler. I took about 8 deer those years. Every single one was 1.5 years old and likely the only antlers I saw the whole season. They have a little better age structure now but still not anywhere near what it could be.
I grew up there as well. Lower and upper peninsula's. Hunted there 1983 through1995. Many good friends and family there as well. I do something between make them jealous and piss them off with harvest pictures from around here every year . But if I suggest making the changes that would...
I have the 5 mile version. It's plenty. Three strands going around 2 acres is still less than one mile of wire. Your 12 mile unit should more than cover your needs.
"Data reported by the Des Moines Register shows that even in the last decade, the number of raccoons trapped has dramatically declined from about 308,000 in 2011 to about 34,500 in 2021." That is a big change in a short time.
I have fenced a 2 acre bean plot the last 2 years.
- metal posts at corners or any change of direction.
- 4 ft plastic posts in straight runs.
- 1" Electric tape for visibility. inside strands about 1' and 4' off ground. outside strand about 2.5 to 3' off ground. strands about 4 to 5...
