bad nite
Just needed to get everyones opinion on this. I hunt some land up in Mitchell county, and I got in the woods tonite around 1:30. By 2 I had 2 bucks, and 3 does in the area playing around in a creek about 50 yds away. They were there for a long time, and then they finally spooked. I knew they didnt see me at all. Well thats when I saw what they got spooked from. Another hunter was coming into the woods, he walked to within 40yds of my stand, and stopped and looked at me. He started walking again for about 20 steps, then looked at me again. This time he starts shaking his head like I wasnt suppose to be there. He then proceeds to walk a few more steps, he is about 45 yds from my stands, and stops, takes a piss. He then walked to a tree, and took his trail camera off, and messed around there for about a half an hour. Then he starts walking off where the deer ran to. Totally piss me off tonite, because usually there is no one out in this woods. I know other people have permission, but usually no one is out there. And usually, if there is, the other people and I work really well together not to ruin eachothers hunts. The thing was, this guy proceeds to walk from the land I was hunting on, onto someone elses land, which doesnt allow hunting. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off. If he would have stopped when he saw me at first, and backed out and went in a different way, I wouldnt have been mad at all. But when he proceeds to do that, thats just ridiculous. And as I walked past his truck, he was from Linn county. So I dont know, sorry, just had to vent a little...

Re: bad nite
No, the trail cam was about 80 yds from my tree...across a creek..and my stand was hung last year...so I really dont classify that as me hunting over his cam at all..If I would have knew it was there, I wouldnt have been near it at all...

Re: bad nite
Well obviously one of you wasn't doing their homework or one of you wouldn't have been there, not trying to be a smartass here. I will give you some advice though about what not to do and that's go complain to the landowner. I lost a damn good spot by doing just that since it's easier to just not let anyone hunt than solve squabbles between hunters. Maybe you should try to find the guy and see what you can do to work something out. Good luck.

Re: bad nite
oh man that really sounds like a bad night. I had something like that happen to me last year. im gonna go alittle. We hunt by a guy who owns horses. We share the same road but their is a y in the road. His road goes right and ours goes left. Well this old man thinks he can drive anywere and do anything he want out their. So one day at the Y he took a left instead of right. Well he went right by my stand. And the thing that really pissed me off is that he waved when he went by. (And it gets better) When he gets the the main gate he starts to honk his horn. OH man i was mad. He's lucky i didnt have a rock with me!:brick He scared away 6 does and a nice 8 that was coming into range! But i called my dad and he took care of it for me. I havnt seen him drive around since. Like i said im sorry to hear about that. You should have slashed his tires when you went by just so he knows not to go back.

Re: bad nite
I have had people cross property lines to squirrel hunt when I am bowhunting.
I have simply spoken to them, checked to see if they had permission and if not point out the boundries.
Very polite and we all got along, luckily I never had this happen with another deer hunter so I had to work out where we would both be comfortable hunting.
Out of curiosity, does it make a difference what county this person was from??

Re: bad nite
I don't think he meant anything in paticular about him being from Linn county other than that was where he was from as to identify him, since he didn't know his name.
