A trace in central Iowa. Where was the shed found that you mentioned in yesterdays post?

My advise is to be in the woods as much as possible, period. You can find sheds anytime of the year. Last week while muzzleloading I found a large 4 pt shed from this spring. A friend hunting the same ground as I, found a large spring shed from a 160" deer and also a matched pair of 100" 8 pt antlers from THIS fall. All were from South Central IA. So get out there and keep your eyes pealed. Good luck.

I found a matched set of horns tonight. They are a 8 point in the 130 class. They were 50 yards apart in a bean field...

I didn't think a shed hunter ever stopped looking. I start watching for sheds the last part of December while bowhunting. If I am in a good area for any reason from Jan till the middle of March, I will walk around the area. I also do alot of scouting to keep track of where the deer are feeding and if the bucks are still carrying. From the middle of March till green up, every free moment my son and I have are spent tromping around the countryside looking for sheds.

Last year we found 70 whitetail sheds and a moose shed. Here's a picture of most of them.

Great finds, I was referring to looking for fresh sheds only.
