are they still droppin them?

i was wondering if the deer are still dropping there sheds. Because I made an antler trap, and I figured i was to late to put it out this year.

They are in ND. My son found a 4pt today that had been shed in the last day or so. I checked the spot Thursday and there was nothing. It scored 52 3/8 and had blood on the pedicel. I'll try to get a picture posted in a couple days. We don't put out antler traps, but I imagine this would be a good time for people that do.

A large percentage of the bucks in my area are still carrying antlers. However, antler shedding can vary greatly even in areas that are relatively close together due to quality and availability of food sources in relation to the size of the local deer herd, quality of cover, and general stress factors.

I would get your shed trap set up ASAP. However, in my opinion, there is no shed trap that will ever substitute for putting on the foot-miles. An added bonus to those miles of walking is the scouting you can do for next deer season.

I've seen a lot of bucks with racks yet, I would get that trap out right away. Good luck.
