I’ve always shot a Mossberg 500 with a rifled barrel and cantilevered scope mount and a 1 3/4 - 5 power scope. I tried sabots and went back to 3” mag 1 oz Winchester slugs. This year I built an AR in 450 Bushmaster. It did very well in Wisconsin so I probably won’t ever go back to shooting cannonballs out of a pheasant gun.

Browning Gold 12 gauge cantilever rifled barrel topped with an Aimpoint 9000SC 2x scope. Like it so much I bought another 12 gauge and a 20 gauge for my kids to use. Only problem is that Aimpoint only made the 9000SC in 2 power for a couple years in the early 90’s. The second two guns have the non magnified 9000SC scopes on them and have a 2moa dot.

Also - I shoot the Federal Barnes Expander P152xs sabot slugs. Only problem is that they haven’t made them for 6 years now and my stock pile is dwindling

CVA Accura V2 LR topped with a Scheels 4x12 scope from the stand. When doing small drives of sloughs with the family just use a Stoeger with a bird barrel and Federal rifled slugs and any shots are under 50.

Browning BPS, 12ga, rifled barrel. 1 x 5 Nikon scope. Alway done great with this one. I won a gun I would never use at a banquet this spring, so I traded it for a Marlin 45-70. It has a little more range and shoots a tighter group, so I'll see how that does this year.

Remington 870 bird barrel and Remington Slugger slugs... gun has been oddly, an absolute tack driver for me..I do have a 870 with a rifle barrel, leupold 2x7 on top that shoots hornady slugs real well too..but most shots these days are 40 yards are less as we went to stand hunting and quit pushing.

This spring I bought a Savage 220 and a Vortex Crosfire II scope. I'm really looking forward to using it this year, but a little nervous about how well I'll be able find a running deer in a scope. I had been using my Remington 1100 smooth bore until this season. It's pretty accurate up to 75 yards, but I wasn't comfortable taking shots much longer than that.

Running deer through a scope is a lot like any other learned kill...it takes practice. I grew up hunting with scopes in Michigan and still use them on deer drives. I have no issue with it. A couple things you probably already know is have it on a low power, like 2x, unless it is a longer standing still shot and practice a lot pulling up and tracking things like birds before season. Others I hunt with hate scopes and won't even consider them. They are experienced wing shooters and the scope is foreign to them and messes them up on moving targets.

I have one gun ( Remington 870) with two different personalities. For solo hunting (private land) I use a 36" rifled bull barrel from Verney-Carron. Groups Federal Sabots in an inch at 100 yards. For groups or really brushy country, I use the smooth barrel that came with it. 18" with rifle sights. I think it was a LEO gun before I won it in a raffle. It likes Rem Sluggers just fine, but I seldom shoot it past 50 yards. Both have an odd sight setup that I've found I like. The front posts are fiber optic, from which I remove the light pipe. Makes kind of a ghost ring. The smooth barrel, I took the rear sight off completely; just get my target inside the front ring and fire. The bull barrel has the same front sight, with an aperture peep sight on the cantilever Weaver rail. Seems odd, but it feels right to me. Plus, gives it a "Sir Hammerlock/ Elephant Gun" styling that I like.

M60 we converted over to straight wall. Not accurate but doesn’t matter!!! ;)
I do have AR & got a straight wall for it. Ironically. Do have benelli slug gun i really like with gold partitions. & smokeless from arrowhead. All these guns & never kill big bucks with guns for whatever reason. Lot of firepower that don’t get used. Maybe this is the year?!?
Rutnstrut- that gun is sick!!! No man couldn’t appreciate that bad boy!!
