I had 4 of them put in just like that last June 20th, got 2 inches of rain on the 24th which filled em halfway and with all the rain leading to July 6th they were full and have been since. mine are 5 feet deep with bentonite clay worked into the base
in Illinois you need permission from the landowner to retrieve a deer, and we always let people go that were not abusing our property. we would let them go after sunset so they wouldn't be doing a deer drive for their buddies. it would be great if they would give the landowner 24 hours to comply...
back in 2002 those idiots in Wisconsin had a plan to eradicate all deer in a 385 square mile zone. to think that you could actually do that should get your biologist degree canceled
getting rid of that landowner tag will save a huge number of bucks. most guys won't ever shoot 3 but they also won't shoot that 2nd one and end their season
most of the people that vote yes do not have the opportunity to hunt over a mowed corn field. I voted no because after season is over, I want to mow mine, so it all gets eaten before time to plant
Ohio goes till February 1st. Ohio is still producing mature bucks in spite of crossbows and corn piles somehow. I like hunting in the late season and never shoot something I wouldn't have shot on October 1st. how many shed bucks get shot with archery by accident?
I'm a landowner but would happily vote for 1 buck tag if it would bring the herd back. I would be interested to know the percentage of landowners willing to give up that extra tag. I suspect most of the people voting for 1 tag, including landowners, don't own land. much like the people that vote...
unfortunately, the ability of the drones to find a poorly hit deer is so good that it can encourage someone to take a poor shot knowing that they will find the deer regardless. for that reason, I'm against them at any time of year
