    Brassicas

Look great. What drill do you have?

    Clover

Clethodim works better in the heat.

    Brassicas

Yes, it definitely would come up better. If drilling, your coulters will carve a trench through the thatch, giving it a pathway to come up. I'd add peas to that mix and stand back!

    Anybody using a Woods drill?

I'd be very tempted to get a PH Outdoors M5 for that price point. Most are going around $9k. They use openers with a cultipacker over the rear. A better option for soybeans than the 3 in 1 type of implements out there.

    Tractor parts?

Shoup is a great resource. Northern Tool has a good selection of hitch pins: https://www.northerntool.com/search?s=braber+equipment+hitch+pins

    Fertilizer Rates

From Dbltree's original post in Brassica Thread (46# N / 100# of 46-0-0 Urea or 46 x 1.5 = 69# N per acre): Planting and growing brassicas Brassicas require plenty of nitrogen so plan on tilling in 150#'s per acre of 46-0-0 urea (46#'s of actual nitrogen per hundred pounds) Urea must be tilled...

That’s 299# of actual N. I would not put that on a brassica planting.

    Fertilizer Rates

    Is the recommendation for 300# of 46-0-0? Or 300# of actual N? BIG difference. Ex: Qty (2) 50# bags of 46-0-0 = 100# of 46-0-0 = 46# N per acre. Soo…. 300# of 46-0-0 = 46 x 3 = 138# N / acre. FWIW, anything over 100# of N is a bit crazy for brassicas.

2025 Brassica plot..... Or new pond!

Wow! This year has been crazy that’s for sure. I’ve never seen clover look so good in the heat of the summer before here in MO..

    Food Plot Seed Resources

For those newer to the food plotting game, here are several great seed sources available. Also great alternatives to the more expensive "Buck on a Bag" mixtures out there. While those can be convenient for anything 1/2 acre or smaller, you're much better off with the buying power of a true...
