I moved to the Cedar Rapids area 2 years ago and have found it very hard to get on good private ground within 30 minutes of town. My brother has lived in the area for 3 years and hasn't had much luck either. We drive an hour and 15 minutes to our hunting areas. Good luck.

I think you are looking at the dates for the 2001 season. The dates for 2002 I saw are Nov 30-Dec 4 and Dec 7-Dec 15.

My brother and I observed pretty good deer movement this past weekend. 16 bucks and 24 does and fawns. 4 were P&Y or better. One was a 150" 10 point that was tending a doe. He chased off a 130" 8 point and a small 6 point. The deer seemed to quit moving around 9:30 and start moving around...

Does anybody know what the bag limit on squirrel hunters is? They seem to be overpopulated this year. I had 4 of them come through at primetime this weekend to ruin hunts. Hopefully pheasant season will keep them out of the timber.

It looks to me like the big one is a basic 8 point with long beams. I think he scores about 152" - 155" without counting the stickers.
