Wonder where the county I grew up in would rate: Tama county. Seen some really nice deer there when I grew up, but it flies under the radar. Little to no public and the landowners are tight lipped. Recently saw the obit for a bowhunter in the local paper up there who I heard through the...
Running an ExMark LaserZ with 72" deck powered by a Kawasaki 27hp liquid cooled engine. Like the liquid cooled for those long days mowing with temps above 90.
My experience is that bucks like to push does in estrous into standing corn or switch to try to hide them from rival bucks. They also like waterways and fencerows for that.

The hazelnut bush close to mine got browsed into the mushroom shape.
I saw a newer New Holland tractor with a rear mounted “boom” mower for sale just south of the Kirkwood campus south of CR last Sunday. I’ve seen countles use these for brush in ditches. I thought it would be great for mowing the face of our dam, but too much cash for such limited use.

Going on a parts run the other day, I rounded a corner and the corn field on the inside of the curve was heavily browsed by deer coming off the river bottom on the other side of the road. Damage was significant but not as bad as I think your pictures show.
