    New switchgrass plot…

Why do you say not to plant Cave in Rock? I have about 6 acres that I planted throughout the years, and it has worked great.

    MINERAL TO PUT OUT NOW…

I just bought some Purina Rangeland Pro. I got it, but the person at the co op said Purina is discontinuing the Rangeland Pro. Sounds like the wind & rain is replacing it. The wind & rain sounds more like a pellet. Any thoughts on what to use if that goes discontinued?

Looking for ideas on tree tubes…

I might have some to sell. I have 50 or so used in good shape and a bunch still in the bag. Not sure on qty. I'm in the wayne county area. They are the greenish, ventilated. Nice ones.

    Matriarchal Does

In a way I think those does should be passed up. I thought the big dominant bucks would breed those older does first. I don't know if that is true. Yes those smart ones are a pain in the butt. If not for the breeding thing, whack em.

    Soil test results

I use an old drop spreader 5 or 6 feet long. (1960 ish drop fertilizer/ lime spreader) and put a 3 or 4" bolt on each of the knives on the inside. That keeps it mixing and it stays loose enough to drop. It puts the lime where you want it.

    Hunting blinds?

are you guys using the silicone as an insulation strip that the window doesn't stick to? If so, do you lay the bead then close the window until it dries and hopefully doesn't stick the window shut. :). Has anybody tried to insulate the inside of a roto molded blind. I use the Sportsmans...

I Have Raccoon Problems - Let's Discuss Trapping & Management Methods

I need to eliminate some coons. I would like to use the dog proof traps but since I am a non resident, the traps wouldn't be checked too often. What is the downfall to that other than lost opportunity. With hides not worth much, not sure if trappers would be interested.

    Shedding right on cue…

High population, but plenty of food both grains and browse. I would say the ratio is no worse than 3 doe to 1 buck.

I saw over 6 shed bucks on 1 farm. 2 of the biggest were already shed.

    Simazine/ atrazine for switchgrass

I used roundup and crop oil in the spring before the switch germinates. I did this the first 2 years and got a awesome stand growing after 2 years.

    Oust - SFM75 on WSG

I used SFM-75 on my switchgrass plantings without any trouble. Can I do the same if I plan on planting WSG (frostseeding next march). I need to do a few sprayings this summer and early fall with roundup. Was wondering if it would be beneficial to use SFM-75 also. thanks for your help.

    Any Pond Experts?? Moss Problem..

I checked on my pond this weekend. I would say the algae was reduced by at least 50 %. Not sure if it just goes away by itself. I broadcasted the granular copper sulfate (cutrine plus) April 15th. I spread an entire bag 30lb. It did not affect the fish. I would say it did something. good...
