No they are not vented they are the blue x tubes, sofar they are growing great in them. I do have 130 crabapple trees In the tubes currently I planted them last nov they were 2' trees and over a hundred are at least 5' tall. Back to the chestnuts I was wondering if I should buy the styrofoam...

I have a few chestnuts seedlings 12-24" tall that I need to protect this winter. They are currently tubed but I don't know if that will work. The seedlings are from my father in laws tree and he has since past, so I got to keep them growing. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
