Sorry to hear of your wife's accident Paul. But very glad to read she is doing better.
Obviously, I haven't been on the computer for awile, but wanted to let ya know you're family is in our prayers.
Hope everything continually improves for her.
We'll be thinking of you.
I was at Osenbaughs yesterday and CIR was $11.95 a pound.
Got my seeding done this morning, and had a blast. Hopefully I'll have a hillside full of grass to take a picture of in couple years.
John recommended spraying a full rate of atrazine and a half rate of dual around April 1 then...
I wouldn't worry about the price staying here for an extended time. There is a lot of coffe shop talk about 5 or 6 dollar corn, but we are already seeing some ethanol plant plans being scrapped. We are already in the rationing stage, more cow/heifer slaughters and lighter hog weights.
I don't...
Well thats it I'm getting me a bag spreader, and slappin on the boots. The switchgrass is hittin the dirt soon.
And then I'm droppin the bomb on the brome in early May or late April.
Then look out monster bucks.
Thanks man I'm pumped.
I completed my burn on the brome hillside, last week. The brome was not very thick or healthy, quite a few open areas with weeds and such. The burn went very well.
But I just read a recommendation to someone else not to seed this year because they didn't have their brome killed in the fall...
Yep, I spoke with the closest habitat team member. We are going to meet in early Jan. to hash things out.
I totally agree with the wildfire thing, but if I had my water tanks and water truck down there I would probably do it myself with a dozen close friends of the volunteer fire fighting...
I believe in the cycle theory. It seems some have to turn it into a political issue all the time.
Check out Dr. Elwyn Taylor, he has some excellent theories on the magnetic poles and the weather cycles. Had the pleasure of listening to him at a farm conference last year, very interesting, and...
Maybe Ill just put the custom drill charge toward a good atv mounted spreader.
I'll be doing about 20 acres so it might take awhile with a bag spreader.
Then have to come back with atrazine and roundup when the brome starts to green up good, since I didn't follow proper procedure and kill the...
Dbltree:
I think I read that you used a truax drill on frozen ground with good results.
I was wondering which way you would prefer.
I am going to burn a hillside of brome in a couple of weeks to remove the trash. Then had planned to frost seed CIR switchgrass via broadcasting or drilling.
I...
