I've been posting about this deer with trail camera pictures earlier in the trail camera forum. Recently it started showing up during the late afternoon hours. Thursday the 15th was the CT opener,so I figured I'd stay on this thing like a tick until it showed. Saw it on the evening of opening...
This buck started showing up a couple weeks ago. Posted about it back then. These are the first daytime shots of it. Should be losing its velvet soon. Hope it sticks around.
It has quite a few areas of really thick cover to. Lots of red and white oak flats. The thick cover is mostly adjacent to a power line run that cuts through the property. The non typical in my avatar came off the property these bucks are on.
I used to bow hunt a lot up that way. Beautiful country. Hunting in Fairfield county now for quite a long time. Some really good mature animals down here. Lots of big suburban bucks in tight, smaller acre parcels. These are the areas I mostly bow hunt.
Showed again on the 24th. Been coming through 2 or 3 times a week regularly lately. Still no daylight pictures. Yet... Good clear shots of the rack in these trail camera photos. Especially the rear view shot.
Monster made another showing. This is about its 3rd or 4th time showing up. All night stuff. Hoping as the days get closer to, and into November it makes some daylight appearances. Nothing really happening in these parts yet, other than the random scrape and a few rubs. Soon...
Caught this big slob for the first time in one of my suburban hunting spots. Starting to get more sightings of a couple good racked bucks here as the month progresses. Some good stuff growing on top. Gotta hope the frequency picks up along with some hopeful daylight images. Be interesting to see...
Grilled up some venison loin this evening for dinner.Seasoned it with adobo,and put it on the fire(cooked medium rare of course).Sauted' some portabella mushrooms,cooked up some yellow squash mixed with onions and bacon until tender,and served it up.Damn good is all I can say.Included a picture...
