Do you just leave the rye or terminate at some point? I threw some rye into some grazing alfalfa that didn’t do much for a year. With the rye and more fertilizer it REALLY took off…interesting…
Bucks seem to cover an awful lot of ground in the breeding season. Apart from screening your personal property, my thought would be to encourage as many neighbors as possible to help patrol.

Speaking of packing, when the ground is dry my ATV pull behind cultipacker does compress fully into the soil, it rides on the ribs. Do the CAT 1 & 3 pt hitch style fully compress to the flats easily? If so, I’m interested.
Just finished up doing a lot of girdling & cutting smaller trees (1-3” dia.) for one of my 2025 projects. Thought I’d mention this saw since I use it a lot also & it’s quite a bit more affordable than my Stihl professionals…

Interesting observation regarding the declining insect population. I remember as a child not going barefoot in the yard for fear of getting stung by honey bees and catching grass hoppers by the hundreds in a single day. I’m hoping to get a pollinator plot established this year to try to do my part.
