Cool owl pics!! I knew a guy that had a place near Keosauqua and about 5 or 6 years ago he had the same thing. Some Barn Owls took over his deer blind and made a complete mess of the place...BUT, he left them be and I think they raised 2 or 3 owlets per year for a couple years.

Believe it or not, I actually had some on my place now many years ago. I still had an old barn standing then and they would be in there every spring. I tried to leave them alone, so I never really got a good count on how many owlets they raised, but I am pretty sure they had at least some successful nests. They for sure kept the mouse population in check, there were piles of mouse skeletons on the ground below their nest, probably 18" deep.
