Yep, he used to post all the time on the now defunct QDMA forum. I actually got to know him a little too, as I met him in town once and then stayed in touch with him some before he then sold his place and moved away. He was a habitat NUT, he worked tirelessly to upgrade his place.
And a funny twist...as we got to know each other a little I then realized that we were almost neighbors...as I had looked at a place that bordered his ground. Had that deal worked out for me, he and I would have been looking at the same deer each year. FWIW, he battled dogs on the loose/uncaring neighbors and that is about the prime reason that I did not pursue that farm real hard as I was seriously scared by an aggressive pack of dogs one day when I was out on the property. This was before I had a CCP and I sure wished I had a trusty firearm that day as these dogs kind of fanned out and surrounded me and were closing in despite my yelling at them, etc. I quickly grabbed a stout limb and got to the nearest high ground and braced myself for a potential attack. Thankfully, they backed off at about 5 yards and did not come closer. But the adrenaline was surging as I prepared to do battle.
Several years later I start following this man's posts on QDMA and eventually realized where his farm was, that it was next to a farm that I had considered AND the freaking dogs that plagued him were the same ones that followed me that day. Small world.
