Park a truck in a field, don’t use it, it’ll rust and fall apart. Keep it in motion with maintenance…run a long time. Human body is no different. Turning into a nation of marshmallows. As my Navy SEAL buddy says, “Have your body and gear squared away, if you look like a bag of smashed assholes that’s how you’ll perform.”
I apologize ahead of time if I offend with this next comment, I’m running with few out of shape Amish iterated above. I put together many LE teams and help my wife operate her business. When it comes to personnel physical appearance matters imo. As a general rule, with exceptions, if one doesn’t have the self respect to take care of themselves, how you can one take care of my tasks or business? Over time I’ve found this indicator to be accurate.
We’re promoting this problem with automation in furtherance of production, cutting personnel costs, liability exposure, injury exposure etc. However, human boots on the ground will always be necessary to complete a job. Again, there are lines.
