One thing to remember about the electric saws is conventional Kevlar chaps don’t provide the same level of safety as they would on a gas powered saw. It has to do with the way the sprocket will become clogged with Kevlar on a gas saw, the electric saw is more a direct drive. Not sure what is standard PPE for electric saws.

You put a metal blade on the weed whip ? Is that what you are saying ?
Just finished up doing a lot of girdling & cutting smaller trees (1-3” dia.) for one of my 2025 projects. Thought I’d mention this saw since I use it a lot also & it’s quite a bit more affordable than my Stihl professionals…

I just bought a Stihl 561 clearing saw. It is really heavy and heavy duty, but I can cut the stuff thats too big to run my 3 point mower over and get it cut off at the ground easily. It will cut off trees that are starting to get big enough that you gave to pay attention which way they will fall. I caught myself idling or half throttling through most smaller tree and bush stuff.
I ran it for a couple hours Thursday and really got a lot done in a short amount of time. I have had a Stihl FS 110 with a blade on it and it has held up great but the new one is in a different league. The 110 is getting a string head now so I will always have one trimmer with a blade and one with string.

I need to clean out a couple of lightweight tsi chainsaws if anybody is in the market. Have two Stihl MS 261 16" both great shape with little use, a Dolmar 5100S 18", and an Echo X Series (their commercial line) CS-501P 18". They are all great saws. I am going to sell two and keep two.
