Deer mount costs?

Just wondering what deer head mounts are costing in your area? Wall mounts and pedestal mounts? Just curious!

Depends where you go. My 2 i paid $900 one place (guy only does 50 a year plus his regular customers) and $750 for the more "commercial" set up. (They do hundreds of mounts a year.)

Can you see a difference in the mounts? Which one would you go back to for the money? Just curious.

Somewhere between 800-1100 here. My guy is on the higher end and I can say it is worth the extra cash

Space, already have 17 or so. I like them and all but part of me kinda questions the point of it. Be an old man with 75 deer mounts for my kids to throw away? It's a conundrum.
Yeah I get that part for sure. I don't mount them all anymore but do most. Space is a big one. I guess I just look back at a mount and relive the hunt for that buck. Not as easy to do with pictures IMO.
Plus, as much as we spend on deer hunting anymore, what's another $1000 to the tab

My guy is $1000-1100. He's an artist with his work and I don't mind paying a little extra for it.

Yes you can tell a difference. But I had to look elsewhere, been going to the $900 guy for 20 years and he has to be close to retiring. Definitely prefer him over others. Started going to him at $550.

$750 team just doesn't put the detail in, ask for photos, field measurements. The "form" definitely shrank.

But I've used a guy whose won competitions, done world record deer and by far those are my worst mounts. So gotta be careful.

I honestly prefer euro mounts now. $100 bucks and the memories are still there. And they look waaaaay bigger without a form fitted to them and they are a lot more sought after as well.

Same here as above.

Very rare anymore to mount an animal. It is a ton of work and taxidermists have been severely under priced for years. Unfortunately now with prices where they probably should be and still probably too low it has kinda priced most out of the market.

I have been skining, boiling, and power washing ours. Takes about 2 hrs start to finish. Equates to a cheap euro.

Still can relive the moment and even a bit more fun because you can put your hands on them.

These were the kids from this year.

Those euros look good! I need to start coming to you!

Bout 1000.00$ is common here. I will not mount another.
Just euros from here on out.

Now..., 3/4 bear mounts:oops:

Here are 3 I've helped friend get. All over 500lbs.
4/5 grand.

I like euros. I can easily do them take up less space and I can grab them off the wall and hand to a friend if he wants a closer look.

To your point 1983.....I am getting close to finally getting rid of all my Dad's deer mounts. I sell them at garage sales. To many and no space

“Too many mounts”…. Great problem to have & very unique to iowa & Maybe a handful of other states!!!! Could move back to MI & u would never mount another buck ;). I only shoot one buck I’d mount in a year at most anyways so lil easier. The guys who do like out west & Africa and all that…. Wow… ya, eventually that’s a ton of space!!

I have five shoulder mounts and I already wrestle with leaving a "bunch" of mounts for family to deal with after I'm gone. Even on good deer I go back and forth on shoulder mounts but at $1000 a pop I think it's going to be euros unless it's a giant.
