Weeds

Fellas. Question for you.
I've got 2, 1/4acre fields tucked in the woods that get good sunlight for 1/2 the day.
Had clovers in them last year (Imperial Whitetail) junk! They came in good last year but now they are less then half of what they should be.

I'm planning on turnips/ radishes come late July on them.
Trying to keep from any soil disturbing and have lots of weeds growing in amongst the clover that is there. Very little grasses, just alot of various broadleaf weeds.
My plan is to just mow once a week to keep any weeds from getting seed heads, spraying last week of July and broadcasting brassicas.

Super rich bottomland soil.
Question I have is, all those weeds should keep the organic matter good right?
I just got done mowing both and the soil looks super dark/ rich.
Yes, I could have sprayed weeks ago but then I'd have black / hot/ dry soil untill brassica planting time.
And yes, I could have planted a cover crop weeks ago but I figgered weeds would be just as good without the expense as long as I kept them from seeding out.
Am I wrong with that thinking?
What say you fellas?

Spray it with butyrac200. Kill weeds. Leave clover.

Very little clover. Mostly weeds.
I don't want to kill the weeds if I don't have to as it's still 6/ 7 weeks away until I plant brassicas and I don't feel that killing them and have everything bare black dirt would be beneficial to the soil for that long.

I wouldn't let the weeds get to seed stage. Spraying or mowing will leave trash behind so it won't be bare, baked soil when you come back in 6 weeks.
