Truax drills?

Anyone using a Truax no-till drill? I'm looking at an 8' with all 3 boxes. I'm wanting to plant anything from warm season CRP to soybeans.

I had one for a good while, it was the 5.3' version. Super heavy, awesome drill. I felt calibration was easy and could dial it down pretty low. Only reason I sold it was to look for an 8' version. They do an awesome job on native blends. Owners and customer service is the best.

Our PF chapter has had Truax and GP. The only downside to the Truax is that if anything really breaks (which happens on rentals..nothing parties like a rental...) there isn't anyone local to work on it like with a GP. We had to have it trucked back to Truax. Otherwise they are solid units.

The truax was never designed to seed large seeds like soybeans. Will it? Yes. But the box design may crush some seeds in the rear box. But if you need to plant a couple acres, no worries. The rear box is small and will not hold alot of big seeds.
Do not try spying the nwsg box. It will grind them up.

The meter system is basically the same as john deere. Many of the parts on truax can be purchased from john deere.

If your gonna own or use a truax, you will need to follower the calibration method for each seed type.
