Duel II Magnum
Generally I plant Buckwheat as a spring cover crop that I normally plant the first week of June that later gets terminated around August 1st for a fall Brassica food plot planting. Noticed Duel II Magnum has a 60 day Plant-Back Interval for Turnips, Kale & Collards which had me wondering if Duel II Magnum could be used as a post-emergent for an early June buckwheat cover crop planting that could be followed up with an August brassica planting after the 60 day Plant-Back Interval has past?
I'd still do a burndown using 24D & roundup 10-14 days prior to planting buckwheat cover crop. Was thinking after buckwheat germinated following up with a post-emergent of Duel II Magnum could provide additional weed control for Pigweed / Palmer Amaranth / Common Purslane that label lists as species it controls or helps to suppress..
It appears Plant-Back Interval of 4 1/2 months wouldn't be optimal for over seeding fall brassica planting with winter rye, which normally I target for around September 1st, instead overseeding with winter rye would have to be done sometime in Mid-October or you could frost seed rye the following spring.
Has anyone tried this? Just thinking in fields with a problematic history of Palmer Amarath, Pigweed & Common Purslane it maybe another tool in one's toolbox....thoughts if this would work?
