Over 45 years of bowhunting, the one thing I've learned is..., Camo is SO underrated.
I've killed em in blue jeans, short sleeves work shirts, and just ordinary every day clothing.
I made a HUGE mistake last year and wore a set of pants I bought at Walmart (15 years ago?)
To trail a buck in the morning I'd hit the night before. Mistake was, these have a real soft nap and the buck headed into nasty cockelburr cover.
Came out almost glued together.
Theve been hanging from a tree since last Oct and today, I was just gonna throw them in the burn pit todaybut once I inspected them, I thought no, I'm gonna spend the time and pick em clean.
I've shot alot of deer wearing them. They are quite, and blend in well. They are a bit oversized but I can wear whatever I want to keep me warm and slip these over the top without spending alot of $ on the fancy stuff.

My favorite is predator but I wear lots of different camo throughout the season. I do have the fleece predator fall grey tops and bottoms and I feel like deer look right through you later in the season when the leaves are off. They are burr magnets as well though.
 
Camo is completely overrated, but it’s a symbolic thing for me. I put the camo on its time to hunt! It’s kinda like a uniform, puts me in the proper mindset. I had a military buddy tell me if you look like a bag of smashed a**holes that’s how you’ll perform. Mindset thing. That said I do wear Sitka. It’s durable and warm, but some pieces are burr magnets like 93 said about his.
 
Last year I mostly wore an insulated flannel button up shirt. It's more comfortable than any "hunting" coat I have and plenty warm for bow season. I feel like I'm playing dress up when I put on all that camo knowing it has little to no effect. Guys kill deer with bows while wearing blaze orange every year.
I have a lot of camo simply because hunting gear is made in camo.
I will say that when hunting in snow, you become virtually invisible to deer if you wear white.
 
I only wear this, https://www.ultimatecamo.com/ and have been for many years. Early on they were made cheap, as of this year a new owner bought them out and the quality has improved a lot. They are heavier material and made in Lebanon PA. The reason I went with them was because I watched a video of how deer see camo. Most looked like a blob in a tree, but UC won me over and did better than any other. I would like to wear Predator or ASAT camo in the late season, but I'm usually tagged out by then.
 
I’ve worn plythal camo for a quite a few years now. It was cheap on CamoFire and I liked the yellow color for waterfowl hunting. For deer being able to see yellow really well they sure don’t seem to bust me as much as when I used to wear realtree camo.

I just bought a pair of sweat pant (19.99)$ the other day. Old school realtree I think?

They will serve me well. :)
 
I think of camo in two ways;
1. Functional - for fit, performance, durability, warmth, all that stuff... is it the right clothing for the task at hand...that kinda thing, so "camo" being the more generic "hunting clothing" in this case
2. Looks - the main thing is its value (brightness/darkness), so I'm big on matching value to the situation but color and pattern doesn't matter quite as much. I like solid grays. But then there's the "look" as in, it's our uniform for hunting! Just like uniforms in baseball (my favorite sport!) they make you feel like you're on a team... like you're "in it to win it"...so it's a social thing among friends, peers, partners, whatever. And we tend to choose the ones that we think look "cool" while still meeting the basic needs above of value and functionality. Anyway, my preference these days is Asio (https://asiogear.com) because it's quiet, fits great, is durable, keeps me warm, and has several models so it works throughout the season. It's also not uber expensive like other comparable brands (I think it's better than Sitka). I do like some of Kuiu's stuff for mountain hunting out west because they have a few things Asio doesn't offer (yet).

If I'm brand agnostic, I'm simply a big fan of merino wool, regular wool, down, and fleece. Then I like some of the poly or "carhartt-type" stuff for durability in brush and mountains. And for color, again, I like grays. I avoid things in black. There are very few things in nature that are actually black, and those things STICK OUT! Shadows of neutral colors form their own darks, so I don't think black is a good camo choice, unless you're in a blind. Cheers guys, have a great week!!
 
I buy mostly Natural Gear for the fit and function. I found some good stuff at Wal Mart years ago but not anything the last few years.
 
I have lots of different patterns from over the yrs . Asio and predator in treestand and one thing i always do is never where matching top and bottoms ! Love to wear predator jacket with asio or mossy oak break up pants too me I think I helps break up human silhouette?

Handed a jacket and bibs down to one of my boys and picked up some asio gear to try for next fall. I’ve had some of the same camo for over 20 years.
 
I have an absolute hodgepodge. Most of my bitter cold outer layers are Sitka, I love the windstopper. I also qualify for their pro-program so that helps make the decision easier. I do think the EVII camo is "ugly" but the deer don't seem to care. Midlayers/mild weather is mixed Asio, some First Lite, some Nat Gear. Base layers First Lite, Minus33, SmartWool, whatever is wool and a good sale catches my eye.
