    Farm Contract Recommendations

I am in no real position to give tax and legal advice!!! Haha. It’s just my general belief that if our government is concerned about this our government is way to big than what was originally intended

Anybody else think it’s dumb this is a discussion?? We all are getting screwed if we are debating taxes on stuff like this!

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

No disrespect to Curtis!! I don’t think I live too far away from him! I should try to take him out some time if he’s reading this!! Would gladly debate all this stuff in person to anybody that reads or comments on any of if this! I really do believe we all have the same goals in general!!

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Hahahahahaha…. The point has finally been made!!!!!!! The communist utopia has never existed!! Whether it comes to life, politics, the economy, etc!!!!! And DEER HUNTING!!! The bitching never ends!!! Like in China, Vietnam, the former Soviet block and much of South America this crap has...

    Fencing Deer Movement

One guy builds fences and the other plants stuff to feed starving deer in order for them to kill them easier. None of us our saints!! I don’t think anybody should make the claim that their way of slaughtering the game that’s ours is more righteous than the next! Haha. Don't feel bad that some...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Not being a dick just totally being the devil’s advocate…. What legislation do you anticipate there being that the second landowner’s tag is for management? What is actually enforceable? Is it a “management buck” or is it just a mulligan because I’m so special that I deserve two bucks because...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Even the Indiana DNR has freely admitted that they can not give total credit to their one buck rule increasing the recent trophy quality. They have admitted there has been a cultural change to passing younger deer and a general lack of access that has coincided with the recent uptick in trophy...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

I’m well aware we agree on lots of things!!! I was trying to show another example. There are lots of avenues to control the deer population!! We literally have almost 3 months to kill the things!!! I like to think I “worked” hard to “earn” that third buck tag but will FREELY admit i’ve been...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Yep. Or i’ll shoot the first “nice” buck that comes by on a public or a permission piece and then retreat to my private paradise to shoot the trophy I really want in a one buck scenario where landowners get a second tag for all seasons.

    Farm Contract Recommendations

Nevermind previous comment. I missed the 3 year period you stated. Definitely more risk in a straight up cash agreement but does it pencil out ok if corn is in the 3.50-3.75 range? Obviously it wont be as good but will you be sitting pretty good if it goes up the same amount? Most people I...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Yep!!! Hardly anything can justify 3 bucks. I don’t really support anybody being able to kill three. I absolutely do not support landowners having a second tag that floats to all seasons while a non landowner only gets one tag tho.

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Individual counties are as diverse in habitat as the state in general. Can go miles and miles and see nothing but timbered river bottoms in one part of a county and can see nothing but farmland on the other side of the county. It’s a harder issue to solve than many think. There are literally...

    Keep on shooting the trophies

Yes!!! And crossbows!!! And every other easy buttton everyone has been begging for!! We must do everything we can to stop the boogeyman!!

    Party hunting regs- clarification

Totally agree there. Again, I really don’t mean to disagree with you personally but I am just amazed by the amount of people that are totally supportive of getting rid of something they’ve never done or have no intentions of doing but once somebody brings up making changes to something they...

    Party hunting regs- clarification

I didn’t miss the point. Not necessarily you but in general everyone points to changing gun hunting regs first when trying to solve our current issues. Other than the addition of using straight walls nothing has really changed in gun hunting for over 40 years. There was way way more parting...

The Future of Iowa Deer Hunting and a One Buck Limit

Regarding a one buck state I tend to see about three different groups that support this. Each of them have their own reasons. I’d say about 20 percent of the supporters truly believe in it and support it because they think it will be best for everyone. I would say basically everyone on here...

Senate subcommittee meeting - SF 83, TUES 1:30- Kill all the deer - senate version. Attend, zoom, email…

Yep. Exactly. Don’t want to give too much power to the unelected DNR is what I meant. They should have some input on things but giving them total power could backfire big time someday.

Senate subcommittee meeting - SF 83, TUES 1:30- Kill all the deer - senate version. Attend, zoom, email…

Very true. It’s probably best for both the DNR and legislature to somehow have a say in things. Would hate to give total power to unelected officials. Works out great when you agree with them but that can sure come back to bite you at times.
