    FRUSTRATION

I'm feeling the same way, but I don't think it 'happened' yet. I had a little buck come in and bed right down in front of me too. We were seeing a little bit of chasing, but not hot and heavy like I'm used to. Hopefully this weekend it heats up because I need some more breakfast sausage...

    One Shot One Kill

Congratualtions on your first deer ! I always feel a little sad for any of the animals I harvest. But I do enjoy that meat ! Got my sausage back from the locker already.

    Kat...Your experiment

I've never used a scent blocker suit (never felt the need for one). I always wash everything in the HS scent eliminator laundry soap, earth scent dryer sheets. Then I store all my bow hunting clothes in those Cabelas dry bags with Fresh Earth Wafers. I've had tons of close encounters and...

    Full Load

Well said Muddy. I'm striving to reach that point in my bowhunting. Basically I'm not shooting a buck unless It's going on my wall. We'll harvest the does for meat - which I love !

    Merry Christmas!!

[ QUOTE ] Just hope everyone takes time to say a little prayer and thanks to our soldiers and their families. [/ QUOTE ] I certainly will !! Has to be an especially tough time for them to be away from home.

    Locked bucks

That's got to be a miserable way to go out. I think my first response would be for a quick kill too. I can't imagine trying to wrestle them free. Unless someone had access to a tranq. gun or something. I've seen locked bucks mounted - positioned in a room corner. I think I might have had to...

Did deer processing go up in cost everywhere?

Ouch - If anyone needs a deer quartered I'll undercut that $100 and do it for $75. I cut and wrap all my own - this year my mom gave me one of those FoodSaver Deluxe from Cabelas for my birthday - that really worked well.

    Arrowhead

    Processing venison

[ QUOTE ] For burgers on the grill I mix in finely diced onions and bell peppers, a handful of regular oatmeal, some olive oil, and an egg. Mix everything up real well, let sit an hour or so, make into patties and grill. [/ QUOTE ] That sounds good Bugs - going to have to try that. I had...
