The first thing I would try to factor is how can I place my stands so I can get in and out of them with out being busted by the deer. I would then put the food plot in a area that benefits those stand locations.

The amount of poachers in that area is obscene...we struggle with them every year....maybe the new game wardens in south west iowa will help as well....

My son Will scored on his first turkey ever this youth season. His Tom weighed 23 lbs, had a 9 inch beard with 1 inch spurs. It took us until mid day Sunday to have one come in range, but his persistence paid off with a quick clean single shot kill.

From the numbers I seen for our county I would be willing to bet many are not being reporting at all. In fact I would be willing to be less than half. For the youth season I can not believe the low numbers compared to the number of youths I seen out in our area.
