I second the motion on big cedar tress, almost never get caught in them because they have so much cover and the strong cedar scent.....I also look for the high spot in the area I am trying to cover, and most importantly you have to have a way in and out of the stand site (farm) without spooking...

For one of our spots right out the back door, for the others farms we go to our cabin is about 80 miles or so away and usually we stay for a few days at a time. From the cabin, its all within a mile or so at the most
