    360° trail cams

For those of you that have used them, is there a 360° cam that you’re particularly pleased with? Does any mfg make a cellular version of a 360° cam?

Deer Gro products -Plot Start and Plot Boost

For what it’s worth… I have a couple of technical questions on the product so I emailed DeerGro twice, several days apart. I also tried to reach them through one of their social media accounts as well. Last attempt well over a week ago. They have not replied.

Prescribed Burn - Backpack Blower Recommendations

Is the consensus still the Stihl 800 C-E? Don’t think they’re making anything bigger that I have found.

    Soybean row spacing and population

Skip, I’m sure you’re seeding brassicas, rye, ww etc. into your beans when they start to yellow…just want to confirm that Fierce XLT doesn’t work so well/long that it could hamper that?

    Soybean row spacing and population

Skip, is Fierce XLT a liquid or granular herbicide? I’m finding conflicting info on the Google machine. Found a jug on keystone pest solutions that is listed as $599.00 for “6 pounds” rather than listing the volume by gallons. The jug looks like it should be a liquid…but why is the jug labeled...

    Soybean row spacing and population

That’s interesting. I have not heard that podcast nor heard anyone else talk about it. My observations are purely my own, and anecdotal. Many years ago, when I planted my 1st bean plots, I honestly thought a bean was a bean. I was planting any free leftovers a farmer would give me. I got fancy...

    Soybean row spacing and population

Good feedback and much appreciated! What about brand/variety of beans that are best at shatter resistance? I have planted a couple of different VERY well known brands that are targeted at deer hunters/plotters in the past and they both shattered worse than any ag soybean I’ve ever planted…not...

    Soybean row spacing and population

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be planting my soybeans with a drill vs a planter this yr. I really think I want to go 7.5” rows for quicker canopy & weed suppression. Have a field that likes to grow pigweed & Waterhemp and I want to see if 7.5” rows will help. I’m thinking 200k population...

    MINERAL TO PUT OUT NOW…

Here’s what I did…could be completely wrong or could be ok. We’ll see. Mixed these 4, 50 lb bags (Bronze loose cattle mineral, Trophy Deer mineral, Trace Mineral Salt, Dried Molasses) in a 1:1 ratio of all 4. I didn’t like that the deer min only had 7% phos, but did like the calcium content...

    Real world vs whitetail institute

I’ve been buying my own clover from Welter and a couple others on occasion for the last 15 years or so. Everything from various reds, crimson, and a variety of whites. I’ve also planted WI extensively in the past. I’m a fan of the WI clover, but the single biggest reason I stopped using it is...

    MINERAL TO PUT OUT NOW…

Nutrena brand, $19/bag at TSC. Kent brand, $41/bag at TSC. Formulations similar, but not exact. Is the Kent worth twice the price? Anyone have experience with either of these? Palatability/draw, etc.? If so, did you have to tweak with add’l salt or molasses to enhance?

Deer Gro products -Plot Start and Plot Boost

Does it have a belt along the bottom that cycles the material into the spreader mechanism?

Deer Gro products -Plot Start and Plot Boost

Ok, found it. “Synagro micro-lime” still looks like bulk ag type lime that requires large machinery and beater-type spreaders. Not a product for 1/2 to 1 acre timber plots.

Deer Gro products -Plot Start and Plot Boost

From what I can find, Plot Start is a liquid calcium application. I’m still searching to see if I can find the actual label with ingredient lists for both Start and Boost

Deer Gro products -Plot Start and Plot Boost

Have any of you guys used Plot Start or Plot Boost by Deer Gro? I have to be honest, I’ve ignored it for years as it hit me as a bit gimmicky. I’ve dug in to a bit of research and it seems like it could be worth experimenting with. I’ve got a timber plot or two in particular that get a carpet of...

    EQUIP Funds Frozen

While I’m in 100% support and agreement of DOGE, defunding sanctuary cities, eliminating DEI 100%, getting boys and men out of girls locker rooms, etc. It looks like it could be a blade that cuts more than one way. If they should decide to eliminate my CRP pmts, a big part of me would want to...

    EQUIP Funds Frozen

Did a quick search on the Google machine… If this info is accurate, that freeze should be unfrozen. At least for now
