Space, already have 17 or so. I like them and all but part of me kinda questions the point of it. Be an old man with 75 deer mounts for my kids to throw away? It's a conundrum.
One of the grandest proverbial middle fingers to the hunting decision makers in Michigan I often dream about is acquiring a few thousand acres in the lower tier of Michigan and proving the quality possibilities in that state.
Complete fantasy obviously, but it would be glorious. Big enough...
All credit on calling to the turkey whisperer Curtis Walker. I was just along for the ride. Dakota was jacked. Fun morning.
Dakota now has as many career turkeys as dad. Haha
I'm planting a non GMO corn this year. Has had some really good yield data. Obviously not harvesting, but the more corn per acre the longer it lasts.
I don't spray corn post anyway so non GMO an option. Acuron herbicide keeps it darn clean all year.
Def not a poor investment. You get to write off all the interest, improvements, depreciate any buildings, fences, tile, etc. If filing a schedule F there's herbicide, seed, mileage going to farm, etc.... all write offs
Enjoying it all the while it appreciates in value long term.
I'm in thread middle of one for EQIP. Mulching rose and BHS. I will be spraying any regrowth. Some then gets hardwood interplanting. I'm also delimbing hedge as I go to open up some sunlight.
