Not so much - when I smile in a hunting photo, it's because I'm at the end of a special event. When I smiled in my wedding pictures, it was because I was on the front side of something great. Same smile - different motivations. Plus, I was extra happy because I didn't have to prop my wife up...

Great post, Jody. For those who want to put in the extra time and committment to film hunts, I applaud them. I however, am not one of them. It's hard enough for me to hunt, let alone hunt on film, or film someone else. Go out and have a great season, and I look forward to the still-shot kill...

I passed a shot like that about 3 years ago. Three young deer, side by side by side, and they were standing 10 yards away as I hid in some brush. I toyed with the idea of shooting them with my muzzleloader, but they were small, and I didn't want to fill 3 tags on such small deer.

Okay, let's break it down to the simplest elements: it's 'just' a deer - no guarantee you would have shot it anyway - someone gets to enjoy this deer and the memories that go with it - you have a lot more deer left to hunt. I know that you have a strong passion for deer hunting, so this news...

I have the Cabela's fold-up cart, and it has served me well. I may have to use it on some pretty steep uphill routes this year. Guess we'll see how that does. The larger wheels sure is an asset when going over debris.
