    Out of velvet

Oldest buck on the farm shed velvet yesterday. The other 2-4 year olds on camera the last two days are still in velvet. We're getting close!

    Truax drills?

Sorry I missed that part. The one we have is a grass drill and doesn't do large seed. Small grain, wildflowers, forbs, fluffy, etc.

    Truax drills?

Our PF chapter has had Truax and GP. The only downside to the Truax is that if anything really breaks (which happens on rentals..nothing parties like a rental...) there isn't anyone local to work on it like with a GP. We had to have it trucked back to Truax. Otherwise they are solid units.

    Young studs !

Same thing here. Myself and a buddy had a handful of "new comers" show up with this little cool spell.

    “Once” in a Lifetime

That's incredible. Were they all in the same general area? The odds of that many white coyote opportunities has to be astronomically low ?

I appreciate your consideration of all impacts on anything new but, like Ishi said, you all have earned this. Thanks for your service.

    Whitetail Buck Genetic Variations

I heard a real estate agent talk about on a podcast. He said he would seriously point buyers towards "average" properties at the right price that were more of a blank slate that someone could manipulate to get the access, bedding, food, etc. if someone could show even 2-3 year old 10pts from...

    What county?

People aren't shooting pumpkin slugs with a bead during shotgun seasons or standard blackpowder during late season anymore. It's AR style 350s, 450s, even 35 Whelen and then smokeless sniper muzzleloaders effective to 3-400 yards. From mid October to mid January, it's an onslaught for any buck...

    What county?

That. Long seasons, increased range and efficiency for weapons, increased technology for surveillance, etc. Then you add in that average parcel sizes have gotten smaller and smaller through the recreational land boom over the last two decades, and here we are.

    What county?

Guthrie and Adair definitely come to mind. Certain neighborhoods in SW that are more hilly and not farmed creek to creek.

Farming Lease/Habitat Enrollment Options and Advice

Dang that EQIP contract is pretty substantial. I'm not super familiar with pricing on EQIP contracts, is that type of price tag common? I briefly explored an EQIP option once until I found out they would make me eliminate 100% of ERC which I wasn't interested in completely removing. Didn't even...
