Maybe it is just me, but there is no way I would pay even $10 for antlers that I did not find or harvest myself. I always wonder why people buy them. Do they sit back and tell stories about how the won them in an auction on E-Bay?
I have a pond on the land that I turkey hunt and have thought about trying to hunt the water like I hunt foods sources for deer. There are a few times I have seen birds walking out in the open towards the pond in the middle of the day!
You can't just sign up for CRP! Your land must qualify for it. The CRP that you see now is buffer strips and the like. I think that you would be hard pressed to find 100 acre fields that would qualify for CRP.
Remington makes a "Hevi-Shot" choke tube, that is specifically designed for the use of their new loads! You could also use it with choke tubes that are approved for use with steel shot.
I think that they classify a double bearded turkey a non-typical and scoring is different as in whitetails.

Hunted 2nd and 4th last year and tagged two gobblers! One thing that I have noticed is that it is a different game in May than it is in April. Both are fun!
