    I'm very pleased so far with the deer use of my brassica plot. First time planted and followed oats. Not as thick as yours that followed rye but better than yours that followed oats. The does are in it thick every night with a mouth full of salad. Thanks for all the advise.

    I've had my best luck out of trees like that. No extra cover needed. IMO You just look like a 4th trunk. Netting will bulk you up.

    I planted a new food plot down by our pond at home. When planting last week I prayed for rain. I had to fight the geese of the plot while spreading the seed. Once seeded, the geese where picking up any seed that did not get covered. The plants are now popping up nicely and the geese are plucking...

    They have had around 1" total since planted mid july. Going on 2 weeks since last rain.

    My brassica plot has came in nicely. Although last night I noticed the plants are starting to wilt from lack of rain. Can they bounce back if we get some rain?

    Rye

    I had the same problem yesterday. Co-op says alot of farmers are going to double crop to regain losses. Rye is in short supply and demand has grown. I found some at a small feed store by chance. I was getting worried.
