    Public land pressure

Proving that even our really crappy zones are better than what most states have to offer. Good to know that our tag system is still working to plan. Glad you found a place to hunt every year. Enjoy.

    Public land pressure

Do this; Go to the mirror. Look at yourself and say, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it....people like me." That wont get you an Iowa tag, but it might make you feel a little better about yourself. And by the way, I support these members at the Statehouse level where it...

    Public land pressure

Just checking in to see how my "Friends of Iowa" are getting along. I didn't even have time to buy all three of my buck tags this year.

    Public land pressure

Fun to see that some things never change. Thank goodness. Let's hope they never do. By the way, I have helped a couple of nonresident landowners run cameras on ground that has to be within a very few miles of our NR friend claiming to be the only NRLO in his part of the state. That's good...

Farm for Sale? 60 to 120 Acres

Update: The farm sold. The first week I put the word out, someone came to look and gave me a full asking price offer the same day. We closed on it Friday. I spoke with and messaged several guys from here that had interest and I appreciate that. In the end, a buddy of mine from Nebraska...

Farm for Sale? 60 to 120 Acres

I'm glad you found a way to enjoy your Iowa land. Making memories with family and friends is really what its all about in the end. No amount of antler will ever replace that.

Farm for Sale? 60 to 120 Acres

I will keep that in mind if I ever own land in Davis County. Which, I cant really see happening. And, I don't mind a non-resident buying it. As long as they don't whine incessantly about not getting landowner tags. Most of them understand the system pretty well and I have explained that it...

Farm for Sale? 60 to 120 Acres

Message sent. I have 125 acres of land that has been managed for 13 years and located in a great management area. Just decided last week to part with it. I have not listed it yet.

    Public Land

I don't think its ethical to sit in anyone's stand. I would give them space if they already have a blind there. That being said, there are plenty of guys out there that don't really care about hunting etiquette and there is nothing you can do about someone using your stand on public land.

    Public Land

So, you want to send the squirrel hunters packing because they are in "your" space, but wonder if its cool to sit in someone else's blind....................that's priceless.

    Land values

Have you completed the net worth calculator? It's important.

    Land values

Very good odds that you would lose on one or more of those. Maybe we should compare trophy rooms and drop our trousers too while we are trying to figure out who is superior. I suppose trophy rooms is not really fair since I can kill three bucks per year. ;)

    Land values

    Well, that was easy.

    Land values

I am not against NR landownership. You know that. Its going to happen to some extent regardless. I am against giving NRLO's any concessions on buck tags. That would in fact open the flood gates and basically eliminate all but the very wealthy from owning recreational ground. I think that...

    Land values

Largest increases in value are in the lowest crop producing areas. Its recreational land values that are driving a lot of that. And, you are right, NR's are a big influence on what that ground brings. You don't have to care. But, there are local consequences to that change in ownership...

    DNR Layoffs

You understand that it would have a very negative impact on the resident hunters and farmers, as do most all NRLO's. Yet, many still push for the concessions on buck tags. How can that not seem self-serving to everyone that takes the time to comprehend this? Again, how could we in good...

    DNR Layoffs

Funny thing is, the humor and irony in this is lost on most of the ones that just don't get it. lol Good thing I worked hard and dreamed big and bought some deer hunting farms years ago. I better go take some pictures of my habitat projects now so I can be one of the big dogs because I'm not...

    DNR Layoffs

Being selfish or out of touch with reality is certainly not exclusive to NR's. That's pretty evident here.

    DNR Layoffs

That's fine, but it has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Yep, another change that would benefit you. Sounds normal. You could call your show; If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em.
