    She thinks she's a moose

Yesterday after work, I took a brand-new camera and a steel fence post down to try to get pics of the feeding activity. I set the cam to photo and video mode, so should get some still shots as well as video. Watched from a distance and it wasn't 2 hours and the deer was hitting the pond. Will...

    Product pimps.

On a tangent: This product "Made in China"? "Loose" no more? Nothing "Suruiues"? No V's in the alphabet? Lost in translation? Knuckle dragging hunters won't notice the typos as they are too focused on the graphic design of the package?

    She thinks she's a moose

She was back this morning for breakfast. Need to walk down and take pictures of what is growing in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    She thinks she's a moose

I've watched a doe on two different occasions wade knee deep into a pond, stand there sticking her face into the water up to her eyeballs, drag up a mouthful of material and munch it. Not sure what it is she is eating, moss or a plant. Might have to check into it further. Has anyone else...

    Back in bees?

Got lots of white clover in the farm yard and multiple livestock waterers for bees to drink from. Lots of brushy stuff in bloom around as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Back in bees?

That's an easy swarm to hive if you can cut the branch. Carry to the hive and shake the bees into it.

What was your very first foodplot experience?

Bought a farm in CRP that had an existing 3-acre food plot. A farmer/neighbor was kind enough to plant it the first year, left over seed. Fantastic crop. Every evening late fall, a person could drive around the section, seeing deer coming to the edge of the surrounding timbers getting ready...

    Back in bees?

Find a local beekeeper and offer to let them put a few hives on your property!! Best of all worlds, none of the work and the deal might get you some free honey. If you want a hive, rough budget is $500/hive (bees and gear) and you are just going to let nature take its course? Might get a...

    Back in bees?

Some think that there isn't much to do with bees, but they need a fair amount of attention, which I didn't give them years ago and is why I lost all my colonies.

    Back in bees?

About 30 years ago, started with 3 hives, grew to 12 hives then they all died. Kept about 15 hives worth of equipment in the shed. Back then, ordering a queen with 3 lbs of workers was around $50. Last I looked, the price was around $150. I’m not spending that coin. I’ll buy local honey to...

    Back in bees?

The swarm landed on the barn door. Took my bee brush and swiped them into a container with a lid. Dumped them into hive I had ready. Bees have been robbing honey out of an old hive right inside the barn door, figured it was only a matter of time before a swarm showed up. Two weeks ago, there...

    Back in bees?

Looks like I captured a swarm yesterday afternoon and put them in a hive I had in storage. Lifted the lid for a peak today and they are drawing out comb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Forward looking?

Just replaced a pamphlet I gave away years ago. Luckily a call to DSM found a replacement. Page 7: “As Iowans and nonresidents purchase or lease land for their personal hunting pleasure, there may be fewer opportunities for local hunters.” Prophetic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wyoming has common sense… “extreme range hunting” being debated ….

It would be a nightmare to enforce, most likely impossible. Was thinking about hunting sheep (Bighorn) and it seems that it is usually a long-range game.
